Baby Animals Day

Today at preschool we went on a field trip to the American West Heritage Center for Baby Animal Day!  We lucked out and had nice weather and no rain like they were calling for!  The kids loved seeing and petting all the animals!  They had calves, piglets, 2 week old baby lambs, baby chicks, ducklings, peacocks, and baby goats!  I think I enjoyed the field trip more than the kids did!

The many faces of Lindsey

Want a good laugh...check out these silly faces of mine ha! So as I was looking though my pictures last night and I noticed all the many different faces that I make.  Some are happy, some are really happy, some are mad looking, some surprised...etc. and I couldn't quit laughing so I had to share this!  So I've cropped the pictures so that you only see my face and can't see why i'm making the face which makes it so hilarious!  So tell me why you think i'm making these faces ha!
Just being me
can't catch me
Me without a face and head

Caught me

now you listen here

Told ya so

I'm just going to pretend I know whats going on
not paying attention

caught by surprise

Love Better Than Ezra

One of my all time favorite Bands: Better Than Ezra, the lyrics that reach the soul

"Breathless":

Here you are now
Fresh from your war
Back from the edge of time
And all that you were,
Stripped to the bone
I thought youd want to know

That when you feel the world is crashing
All around your feet
Come running headlong into my arms
Breathless
I'll never judge you
I can only love you
Come now running headlong
Into my arms
Breathless

Lay down your guns
Too weak to run
Nothing can harm you here
Your precious heart
Broken and scarred
Somehow you made it through
I only ask that you won't go again

When you feel the world is crashing
All around your feet
Come running headlong into my arms
Breathless
I'll never judge you
I can only love you
Come now running headlong
Into my arms
Breathless

So glad to see you smiling
So good to hear your laugh
I think that you've found you even
Missed yourself
I'm only asking this because I think that
Truth be told
Oh, you'll never go again
Again

When you feel the world is crashing
All around your feet
Come running headlong into my arms
Breathless
I'll never judge you
I can only love you
Come now running headlong
Into my arms
Breathless
Breathless

"Just One Day"

If you could change the choices that you made,
Would you do it- today?
If you could spin the world the other way,
Could you do it on faith?
If time would stand still,

What would you do? What would you say?
If everyone you love came back for just one day?
How would it feel if every dream came real?
And all the scars you have fade away
For just one day

Imagine all the times you that could take back
What would you have done differently?
Thoughts in your head you never said
Or a heart that you broke and left for dead
If all the pain you had could be released
How life flies by.

What would you do? What would you say?
If everyone you love came back for just one day
How would if feel if every dream came real
And all the scars you have fade away?

For just one day

And the night
All the good times and the fights
All the take and the give
All the moments that we never got to live
Ohhh.....

What would you do? What would you say?
If everyone you love came back for just one day
How would it feel if every dream came real
And all the scars you have fade a way

[Repeat]

For just one day [x2]

If you could change the choices that you made,
Would you do it- today?

Then Ryan discovered this amazing cover done by Brandon Sammons on Better Than Ezra's song "Good"
"Good" Lyrics By: Better Than Ezra
Looking around the house.
Hidden behind the window and the door.
Searching for signs of life but there's nobody home.

Well, maybe I'm just too sure.
Maybe I'm just too frightened
by the sound of it.
Pieces of note fall down, but the letter said,

[CHORUS:]
Aha, it was good living with you.
Aha, it was good.
Aha, it was good living with you.
Aha, it was good.

Sitting around the house,
watching the sun trace shadows on the floor.
Searching for signs of life, but there's nobody home.

Well, maybe I'll call
or write you a letter.
Now, maybe we'll see on the Fourth of July.
But I'm not too sure, and I'm not too proud.
Well, I'm not too sure and I'm not too proud to say.

[CHORUS:]
Aha, it was good living with you.
Aha, it was good.
Aha, it was good living with you.
Aha, it was good.

[spoken:]
Yeah, you were so good.yeah you were so good, yeah that's right...

I just can't seem to get enough of this song, I love it

Bedazzel

So this is how I role around town now.  BEDAZZLED by me!  So tomorrow makes a months since my surgery and so far things have been doing okay. I have moments where I have more pain than others but nothing that Ibuprofen and Tylenol can't take care of.  I still can't be up on my foot more than 5-10 min at one time but life is good and this hasn't slowed me down a bit!

Post Surgery

This past week has been a rough and great week all at the same time.  The surgery went well but started out pain free, then went painful, than to tolerable.  I have the most wonderful fiance!  He carried me up the flight of stairs to my apartment after sugery!  After my 30 hour nerve block wore off, I could no longer tolerate the pain meds.  I ended up in the hospital for fluids.  Thank goodness for the many wonderful friends, my mom, and my fiance that my life has been blessed with I was given blessings and ice cream.  I was able to finally eat food and be relieved of pain.  Then mom and I rented a wheel chair and went shopping!  Friday I got my stitches out and had a cast put on!  Now I can walk on my own, well mostly.  I still have to use one crutch due to my ankle still being extremely tender and sore.  They cut a lot more than I thought they would.  I have now been offical branded with my own initial "L".  So now I wear a cast for 6 weeks and then I upgrade to a walking boot for 4-6 weeks and then i'm free to walk on my own!

ANKLE SURGERY #2

So for Spring Break while everyone is going to amazing places around the world I'll be in la-la land because of being heavily medicated.  I'll be having Right Ankle – Lateral Ligament Reconstruction Surgery March 3, 2011.  While others are laying on beautiful beaches and spending romantic nights in Paris and Barcelona, I'll be heavily medicated, snuggling and watching lots of movies with my sweetheart, and be waited on for a solid week until I can finally get up and down by myself ha!
 PROS:
*I get a handicap pass so that I can park up close to any buildings at school, church, etc.
*No work for a whole week
*I have an excuse to wear sweats and lounge clothes
*Mama flies out to take care of me
*Makes me make time to finish the wedding invitations ha
*I'll get to stop wearing the boot right before I get my bridal and engagement photos taken ha
*Good excuse to not have dancing at the wedding reception hs
*I get to drive the buggy things at wal-mart!
*Thanks to my bffs Jess, Jane, and  Julie, I will be driven to class and anywhere I need to go :)
*Pedicure before surgery

CONS:
*I'm out for 12 weeks with a cast (still deciding on the color I want, this is only my 5th cast ha, any suggestions??) for 6 weeks, a boot for 6 weeks, and then a splint for a good bit after that
*6 months of no athletic activities...only walking
*I'll be wearing a splint for my Bachelorette Party in Vegas in May...but DON'T think for a second that it will keep me from having all the fun I want!  Splint or no splint...DANCING WILL HAPPEN!
* No working out for a while (but my body will not go to crap..that's a promise hah..I still have to make sure I can fit into my wedding dress in August)
*Can't wear heels
*Won't get to wear my cute skinny jeans for 6 weeks

So until March 3, 2011, I will be doing every physical activity I can, participating in every sporting event possible, working out every night, and wearing my highest of high heels every chance I get!!! My weekend plans:  Working out every night, enjoying the sauna, relaxing in the hot tub, scrapbook club, dance party, snowmobiling with awesome friends, and church with my bffs!!

Despair and subject to change

We are not, however, a species that can choose the baggage with which we must travel. In spite of our best intentions, we always find that we have brought along a suitcase or two of darkness and despair.
DEAN KOONTZ, Odd Thomas

Most people can look back over the years and identify a time and place at which their lives changed
significantly. Whether by accident or design, these are the moments when, because of a readiness within us and a collaboration with events occurring around us, we are forced to seriously reappraise ourselves and the conditions under which we live and to make certain choices that will affect the rest of our lives.
- Frederick F. Flack

There are no prescriptive solutions, no grand designs for grand problems. Life's solutions lie in the minute particulars involving more and more individual people daring to create their own life and art, daring to listen to the voice within their deepest, original nature, and deeper still, the voice within the earth.
- Stephen Nachmanovitch

We frail humans are at one time capable of the greatest good and, at the same time, capable of the greatest evil. Change will only come about when each of us takes up the daily struggle ourselves to be more forgiving, compassionate, loving, and above all joyful in the knowledge that, by some miracle of grace, we can change as those around us can change too.
- Mairead Maguire

You may wonder, 'How can I leave it all behind if I am just coming back to it? How can I make a new beginning if I simply return to the old?' The answer lies in the return. You will not come back to the 'same old thing.' What you return to has changed because you have changed. Your perceptions will be altered. You will not incorporate into the same body, status, or world you left behind. The river has been flowing while you were gone. Now it does not look like the same river.
- Steven Foster
